As JP pointed out last week in #244, Stirling Moss came from an era where one would or could say sexist things and get away with it, but with todays social media, immediate retaliation is swift and it’s likely to bring oneself undone.

A week ago Peugeot announced, with little specific detail, they had a new challenger for the annual Pike Peak Hill Climb in Colorado, scheduled for June 30. The car is very loosely based on a 208 road car in much the same way Group B rally cars of the mid 80′s were, albeit a greater level of safety.
What possessed the company to return to such a fickle event? Surely people recall Ari Vatanen punting the 405 T16 (effectively a banned Group B car with massive aero) up the half dirt/tar road in one of the earliest in-car videos, called Climb Dance, way back in 1988? Is their any need? Here it is, just for the record.
Since then few...
I was (not) seriously thinking of calling this post “What to do if your missus shoves the kids at you this weekend because she’s had to put up with them all week and it’s only halfway through the school holidays so there’s still another week to go…”

MARK FOGARTY OUTLINES HOW V8 SUPERCARS’ BELEAGUERED BOSSES HAVE MOVED TO ASSURE TEAMS THAT THEY SEE A BRIGHT FUTURE
AWAY FROM the track, V8 Supercars is going through a tough time. While interest in the racing has increased because of the new makes and Car Of The Future’s initial upending of the established order at the front of the field, the sport’s finances are under extreme pressure.
The concerns and criticisms expressed about V8 management’s handling of the economic setbacks have dominated conversations among insiders and...
Allan Simonsen has taken victory at the opening round of the 2013 World Endurance championship in his factory Aston Martin Vantage. The all Danish squad, comprising of Kristian Poulsen and Christoffer Nygard, drove the #95 car faultlessly to win the GT-AM class.
It was a stunning day for Aston Martin, also taking 1st and 3rd in the GT-Pro category, whilst the race was won outright by Audi, who with the 2013-spec e-tron Quattro prototypes trounced the front row hogging Toyota TS030′s, one of with was running as 2012 spec car.

Radio HOTLAP is available free on the Apple iTunes Music Store, as a podcast.
Our World Headquarters are located in a rather nice part of Adelaide, where regular production takes place. Unless we're somewhere else, which is often the case.
If you ask nicely, you may be allowed to be part of our live audience.
Beyond Episode 200
There comes a time, in this case after six years, with over 240 episodes recorded in 10 different countries, 300+ guests and 220 continuous hours of recording, that we feel its time to go commercial. With over 55,000 viewers, since March 2011, we get some serious exposure. So we thought a magazine to fill in the gaps would be nice.
A Word of Warning
Our firm policy that we don't edit a show once its recorded is because it detracts from its natural conversational character in the first place. Commercial partners and alliances will have to adhere to policy and whilst we'll do the best to accommodate you and make you feel loved you have no control of how we do things. Just so we're clear on that :)
