Dude vs Larko
Well you don’t see it every day, but Larko was shot down during today’s V8 Supercars telecast.
Furthermore, he was shot down over the “rules” of the game by none other that Paul “The Dude” Morris.
It all started when the “Dude” elected to put both soft and hard tyres on the VIP Petfoods entry of Steve Owen.
Larko questioned the validity of this with the Dude and the simple reply was “have you read the rules lately?”
This sent the commentary team into a spin, scrambling to find the answer….but I got bored and didn’t find out if they found it. So after the race I did some research myself and from what I can tell, the Dude is correct in stating that it was in the rules last year, but it’s not there this year. I checked through 2012 Div D First update, section D18 and couldn’t see anything say that the switch-a-roo couldn’t be done. I later found out that this was pretty -well what Damien White had said – the rules had been revised and the bit that said you can’t do it had disappeared, so the Dude interpreted that as you COULD!
That might be a different story tomorrow morning, but for now it is what it is.
Your can check it yourself, and I’d be glad to hear from anyone that can find a rule that states that both types of tyres CAN”T be used when they have been allocated to that particular meeting.
Knock yourselves out, here’s the link to the “the rules”
